Angus hand is a set of authentic handwriting fonts remincent of a time before computers when sending hand-written letters was part of our daily lives. Based on samples of love letters written from Victoria, Canada in 1955—Angus Hand subtly conveys the love and care that was written into the content of those original letters.
Angus hand is based on the handwriting of my grandfather R.B.Angus. I traced the original letters he wrote to my nana and those drawings served as the casual style, which stays true to the imperfections that bring warmth to these letterforms. I then created a calligraphy style for a slightly more formal version of my grandfather’s writing.
